The LORIGO Dancesport Club was founded on April 2005. Its general direction is the establishing of a high level individual training wish was missing for a long time in Szombathely and the creation of conditions for the individual competitive dancing.
The dancesport club started its activity with a presidium of 7 member, which elected Henriette Lovas to artistic director. |

 The club set off the training of the junior team for the next competition season. Thus the dancesport club currently has 50 competitors who regularly take part in foreign and domestic training camps as well attend at further training courses with invited dance teachers.
The serious efforts brought out soon results as in the Championship series announced by the Hungarian Dancesport Association in 2005 and 2006 LORIGO as the best Transdanubian Club obtained the illustrious 6th place among the 90 registered Hungarian dance clubs.
We are proud of the Hungarian Champion title in the Junior class in 2005 and 2006 achieved by Balázs Gombkötő-Petra Seregélyi. They also achieved the result to get in to the best 18 from the 60 competitors in the World Championship in 2006. Apart from them our regional champions, finalists of national championship respectively finalists of different international open competitions conveying the valuable positions with ranking list scores.
The LORIGO Dancesport Club arranged 8th times the Tendance Hungarian Championship in September 2006 when two couples from our Club from Szombathely could get on the winner's stand.
The year 2007 has brought a lot of amendments as the rising generation group grew further, changing of members in couples and mixed couples from different clubs coloured the life of the club.
Beyond the daily trainings the athletes represent our club on almost all week-ends and undertake numerous dance appearances. In January, February this year the club performed programs on the great Szombathely town events and recently achieved great success on the Cserháti memory concert in the Palace of Arts in Budapest creating its good reputation in the domestic cultural life.
The high-standard journals "Dance and motion" and the "Dance Magic" several times wrote an appreciation on the work done in the club and published long articles about it.
In recognition of the high standard work the Lorigo Dance Club was invited to the opera house where a large-scale gala performance was arranged with the participation of most successful and famous dancers of all arts of dance in November 2006.
The club is well positioned in the Hungarian ballroom dance world and is widely acknowledged as presented many results on competitions.
A great event of this year in the life of the club is the 10th anniversary IDSF international competition, 25 October 2008, on which all couples of club will be present. |
